Making "Green Jeremy & Ben"

Some years the Zeitgeist is fairly obvious. In 2019 there were impeachment hearings. In 2020 we were locked down and everything took place over Zoom. In 2021 you could not escape Squid Game. And our family's New Year's card theme was fairly easily derived from these events, even if the card execution remained difficult.

This year, however, I was at a loss. Certainly there were no end of memes or current events, but the majority of them were far too unpleasant to use as inspiration for a card.

Plus, the one really good idea I had required significant preparation. I will spare you the details since I hope to use it at some point, but I spent a lot of time in the summer experimenting and producing physical prototypes that didn't quite fit the bill.

So as sometimes happens, I was stuck.
