Making "Hamilton"

After looking through the pictures, it was clear that one with Benjamin and Jeremy high-fiving would be best. It would get them both into the picture while being closest to the original pose as possible. Photoshop has gotten a lot more powerful over the years, and carefully masking out the background, which used to take me hours, can now be done in minutes.

If you look closely, you'll see that Benjamin and Jeremy's feet are not aligned horizontally, which means that I had to do some rotation and distortion when placing them onto the new composite image. Once I'd done that, it was just a matter of figuring out what typeface was used on the Playbill (Trajan Pro, which I happen to own) and replace the lettering. I experimented with a variety of options before deciding to simply replace HAMILTON with HAPPY NEW YEAR and to keep the subtitle unchanged.

Carol had the idea of including one of the outtakes from the photo shoot on the back cover of the card, which was both funny as well as satisfying the goal of including a picture of the boys.
