Making "Hamilton"
If I don't have some sort of complicated artistic idea, my New Year's cards tend to riff on something from pop culture. This year, there was nothing bigger than Hamilton. The show is still the hottest ticket on Broadway and has created a generation of kids who are interested in American history. Carol and I had the surprising good fortune to be able to see the show earlier this year [editor's note: just before Lin-Manuel Miranda left the cast] and found it to be tremendous.
The graphic design of the show is striking, and the program's cover is memorable. I particularly like the silhouetted Lin-Manuel.
